Time out
I've been taking a time out from writing, talking about writing and thinking about writing (ok I can't really stop thinking about it.) Have been pursuing some of my other interests; planting some garden, making a new flower bed, reading about trees, looking at trees etc. But today I'm back at it with two new poems. Last week I got some work returned with a reject letter and that is kind of a downer. It would be a real downer if publication was my only goal but I usually find myself writing just because I enjoy it.
My latest TV Interview
I've had quite a few opportunities to be in front of TV cameras lately, many of these coming from events surrounding the Race to a Million program that I've been participating in.
In this latest interview with Paul McLellan, host of "The Stir" on Shaw TV, I was surprised at how much research he had done. He knew how things started and most of the musicians I've worked with as well as the works they've gone on to. I found this made things quite interesting as he made me realize how deep the pool of talent I've been working with really is.
Toms Guitars the Gibson Les Paul
I am very lucky to have friends with beautiful guitars they leave with me to play with. This is a fine example of a Gibson Les Paul standard. I have never owned a Les Paul but have played quite a few over the years, the big difference in this one is the weight. Ten pounds is killer. While I play with distortion on this video this guitar sounds fantastic played clean too.

A wonderful Quote!!!
“If one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
Henry David Thoreau quotes (American Essayist, Poet and Philosopher, 1817-1862)

Hear A Naturalist
Offshore drilling was banned for decades after a 1969 spill off the Santa Barbara coast. Then there was the 1989 Exxon Valdez spill, and now video of the gushing well in the Gulf of Mexico, suggests that 800,000 gallons of oil is pouring into our Ocean on a daily basis as opposed to the 200,000 gallons thought originally. This horrific incident is now the worse environmental disaster EVER and coincidently happened to occur on Earth Day. One can only imagine the devastation that is yet to come of this.
