My latest TV Interview

By Mickael Maddison - Posted on 04 March 2011

I've had quite a few opportunities to be in front of TV cameras lately, many of these coming from events surrounding the Race to a Million program that I've been participating in.

In this latest interview with Paul McLellan, host of "The Stir" on Shaw TV, I was surprised at how much research he had done. He knew how things started and most of the musicians I've worked with as well as the works they've gone on to. I found this made things quite interesting as he made me realize how deep the pool of talent I've been working with really is.

Interview on Shaw TV

As part of this Race to a Million project I'm involved in, I was asked to do an interview. It was a great experience sitting there talking to Dean; answering questions and sharing some of my thoughts on. One thing I learned here is that under the spotlight it's easy to get mixed up and spit out the wrong facts and figures (oops)! We'll see if anyone spots the mistake... well I know there's at least one person that will!

Summer insanity and my first song is nearing completion...

By Mickael Maddison - Posted on 10 September 2010

It's been quite a wild ride this summer. I had expected to have time to relax, spend time with family, and get through a bunch of song recording. Summer was not at all what I expected!

I only took 4 week days off this summer out of an expected/desired 2 weeks worth. My expectation that my business would slow down was dead wrong... it only got busier. Fortunately the days that I did manage to yank myself out of working were filled with excellent family time. We did some camping!

A race to a million? What the heck is this?

An opportunity has come up that I've had to jump on. I'm involved with a local group called "Master Mind" where business owners (in this case technology oriented) get together and help each other grow and expand their business. The local founders started this experiment in Social-Reality (Social Media combined with Reality Television) called "Race To A Million" http://www.racetoamillion.ca

Well, to keep it short, I'm now a member of Team Genie and our task is to beat 4 other teams at turning $5 hundred into $1 million before July 1, 2011.

When the idea is too good not to pursue...

By Mickael Maddison - Posted on 15 July 2010

I'm so glad that this site is still moving forward. With everything from music and writing to environmental issues and business ideas, there's so much going on.

Which is the same on my side of the internet. There is so much going on right now; most of which I cannot share publicly at this point. My recording project is still on hold but I am slowly writing new material when time permits. We've performed many times recently, including both Kelowna and Kamloops on Canada day however what's got me all tied up has nothing to do with music.

Interesting Gig

By Mickael Maddison - Posted on 08 June 2010

The last couple weeks have been very interesting. Lately, as I'm mentioned here before, Chris and I have been performing in a somewhat cyborg trio. Ok no we haven't had electronics implanted into our brains that allow us to channel our music directly into a mixing board - but if you figure out how to pull that off let me know. With the difficulties finding a good reliable drummer in Kamloops we've been using recorded drum tracks during our live performances. Last Friday we rocked out with our full sound and my laptop was nowhere to be found.

When worlds collide

By Mickael Maddison - Posted on 30 April 2010

A simple fact of life that we all know well is that you can't please everyone. On occasion this can be painfully clear. Yesterday I had the dis-pleasurable (poetic license) experience of seeing what happens when you cross a noisy downtown festival with a lawyer who choose the wrong location for her office.

Here's a brand new live video for you. As the entertainment for this year's Earth Run event in Kamloops (See: http://earthrun.com/canada/kamloops.html for details on the event) I was invited to perform live on the CFJC-TV7 Midday show. I've never done a live performance on TV up until now, so this is my TV debut!

The video starts off with an introduction from Today's host, Cheryl Blackwell and then straight into the song.
