The long and winding road…

The Dog and Pony Show “Beta Test” website was launched less than a week ago and I’m absolutely delighted that my friends have joined in.

I’m trying to build a community of people following their dreams so it’s only fitting that I tell new visitors about my dream as well. So here’s a compressed version of my story.

I’ve been working on this idea for about 5 years and for the first couple of years I was trying to wrap my head around the idea. I knew that I wanted to hear from people with inspiring stories of how they’re following their dreams through thick and thin – I just had to find the right platform. I bounced this concept by the same friends who’ve joined the site and continue to give me the courage to move forward. Please check out my video in “The Behind the Scenes” tab for more background on The Dog and Pony Show.

During the last three years I filmed and edited a lot of content for the show and started pitching the idea to television networks. I didn’t travel very far down this road until I realized that I had to think differently as I kept hitting the same series of dead ends and road blocks. This was a difficult time as I felt my dream was slipping away and I wasn’t sure what to do next. I have to thank Cathy who keeps picking me up when I fall! That’s when Mattamatic and I decided to bring this idea to the internet and open up a lot more possibilities. With this approach we felt that we could open up the community to other like-minded dreamers so you too could find support when things got tough - like the support I found from my dreamer friends.

So here’s to the first week of The Dog and Pony Show website and thanks again to all who’ve helped to get it this far. I’ll keep you posted as things move forward and who knows what’ll happen next. Any input or feedback you may have will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Darold
