Fun with album cover art
Half way through the Berklee music business courses now, and today I had a little fun w/ my Berklee Music 101 peeps, discussing & posting examples of effective album cover art. I picked Beatles 'White' Album.
I thought that was funny!

Notes from the Hermitage!
Hi D&P People! I feel like I've been a real hermit the past month. I'm now officially 1/4 of the way thru two 12-week online music business courses. It's been a huge learning curve. I work on the courses about 6 days a week. Most of the people in my classes are established performers or record producers and other people in the biz. I met my 'Waterloo' last week when we were given the task of building our own web sites! Yikes! I'm such a tech luddite. Anyway, its coming along slowly. Only a little time for singing, dance classes and song writing.
"Dancing With The (This Is It) Stars" -- to help Haiti.
I was privileged to join Flash Mob America in a public performance of Michael Jackson's 'They Don't Really Care About Us', held recently at the beautiful Hollywood & Highland square, next to the Kodak Theatre, where the Oscars are held each year. That's me on the right hand side of the mob, about 4th row back, with short, curly blonde hair, black pants and black sweater with white rope and blue/grey pattern. We had about 80 dancers in total, raising over $3,000 for Haitian relief.
I followed a whim and fulfilled a dream!
I'm still pinching my self over this ... just met my song writing heroine!!! On Sunday, I went to see a friend perform with her gospel choir, at her church in Inglewood. Liz (aka Bizzi Lizzy) and I met at a gospel workshop about 4 months ago, and became good friends. She's a true 'life of the party' gal, and we always have fun. We originally planned to have lunch in a nearby restaurant after the service; but instead she asked if I'd like to come with her, and another friend, to an International Women's Day celebration at the African American Museum in LA. Sure, I said, "sounds like fun,"
Fare thee wells!
Been busy the past week planning my return to Canada after a 5 month visit to Los Angeles. Had an excellent audition with Angel City Chorale, one of the biggest and best known choirs in the US. The singing tests went very well, the site reading -- not so much. So they recommended I go off and spend a few months boning up on my site reading skills, and come back for next round of auditions in August. I hadn't auditioned in a while, so it was a bit nerve wracking, but I was generally pleased with it.
