Its been awhile..
Hello all..
Sorry its been quite awhile since my latest update (over a year). I've been on a journey to Australia getting my Masters degree in Marine Science and Management. I am half way through my course and loving every minute in Australia. I am attending Southern Cross University in Coffs Harbour NSW and am working under the head scientists in Ocean and Marine conservation as well as special contributors to the Blue Planet/Planet Earth documentries.
My latest TV Interview
I've had quite a few opportunities to be in front of TV cameras lately, many of these coming from events surrounding the Race to a Million program that I've been participating in.
In this latest interview with Paul McLellan, host of "The Stir" on Shaw TV, I was surprised at how much research he had done. He knew how things started and most of the musicians I've worked with as well as the works they've gone on to. I found this made things quite interesting as he made me realize how deep the pool of talent I've been working with really is.
The Brodie Show
Well Dog and Pony crew it has been a while. I am living in Vancouver and I am producing my own webseries. It launched 2 weeks ago. After pitching television concepts all summer and having everyone ask what I had produced before, I thought it was time to just start entertaining.
With a dozen short episodes created and posted in the past 2 weeks things have been busy. tommorrow morning I fly out to Guatemala to work with a group called Dentistry for All and to try and find time to document the adventure.

Unblocking creativity
I’ve been taking a great course at the Writer’s Ctre based on the book by Julia Cameron called “The Artist’s Way”. The idea is to do various things and try different tools that will help to open up creativity. There are 6 women taking the course and we’re really enjoying hearing each other’s perspectives. Darold and I are both doing what Cameron calls “morning pages” - 3 handwritten, private pages (of whatever comes to mind) that you do first thing in the morning before you have a chance to think about or get going on anything else.

Hear A Naturalist - Article 9

Imagine an Ocean without whales, dolphins, tuna, sharks, shrimp, lobster, crab, kelp...you name it! - All gone because of our insatiable desires and hunger for more. Every creature on this planet is a part of a delicate ecosystem in which species flourish or decline according to the conditions in which they coexist. Like a chain reaction, the loss of one species can lead to the degradation of life as we know it. Phytoplankton - the smallest, most valued organism in the Ocean provides food and life for not only marine animals but for us as well. Helping to provide the air we breathe.
A little bird...
By Michelle - Posted on 17 January 2011
Thank you to Cathy for the post and story she shared about a little bird who said, “I’m doing what I can, where I am with what I have”. Being reminded that we are all doing what we can with what we have really hit home today.
I haven't posted in a while and I am a little unsure as to what to post as I am not totally sure what is next for me. So for now I am going to listen to the little bird (Thank You Cathy) and I will readjust my sails and wait and see what new adventure lays ahead.
