My dream is...

Ever since I started working in television my dream has been to produce my own TV series. I’ve been a producer/director for more than 25 years and love the challenges of story-telling. Every situation is different. Every interview is different. But there is always one consistent theme: Passionate people jump off the screen and touch me in a profound way.

A couple of years ago I put the wheels in motion to follow my dream and along with the help of my talented and dedicated colleagues I bought a High Definition camera and set out on the road to produce my series.

Enter The Dog and Pony Show – a show about people following their dreams!

I decided to interview and film folks from across America who are challenging themselves to find their own voice to something that is deep in their hearts. I was looking for stories of courageous people willing to take risks and follow their passion.

We filmed stories in North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Wyoming. 10,000 miles in 7 weeks – what an amazing experience!

When I got back home I purchased a High Definition edit suite and commissioned Roy Forbes to write and compose the theme music for the series. www.royforbes.ca Roy did an amazing interpretation of the series through his music so now I was set to start putting everything together.

I had to overcome tremendous technical hurtles getting the HD suite to perform to spec but persevered to produce a DVD pilot that I started to pitch to networks from New York to L.A. Pitching to the networks was a very eye-opening experience – everyone liked the show but not deals prevailed so I decide to do what I set out to do in the beginning and that was to do it my own way.
